The Mary Virginia Stacey Charity Fund is honored to announce Jaycie Pendleton of Hampton High School as the inaugural recipient of the Mary Virginia Stacey Memorial Scholarship.

Created in memory of Mary Virginia Stacey, the scholarship recognizes an Arkansas senior female tennis player who exemplifies excellence in athletics, leadership, character, academic commitment, and kindness toward others. Mary Virginia was known not only for her accomplishments on the tennis court, but for the compassion, integrity, and joy she brought to everyone around her.

Jaycie was selected from an outstanding group of nominees from across the state for her remarkable achievements both on and off the court. A four-time state tennis qualifier and team captain, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, sportsmanship, resilience, and dedication to serving her school and community.

This fall, Jaycie will attend South Arkansas College, where she plans to pursue a degree in Radiologic Technology.

In addition to her athletic success, Jaycie has excelled academically while serving in numerous leadership and service roles, including FFA, Student Council, Beta Club, Bulldog Buddies, and an AmeriCorps internship at Hampton Elementary.

The Mary Virginia Stacey Charity Fund is deeply grateful for the support shown for this inaugural scholarship and for the many inspiring young women who were nominated. Our hope is that this scholarship continues to honor Mary Virginia’s legacy by recognizing athletes who compete with heart, lead with kindness, and positively impact those around them.

Congratulations, Jaycie, on this well-deserved honor!
